A Baldur’s Gate 3 player completed a challenge run without ever selecting a race or class for their character.
Once the official modding tools were released, it didn’t take long for players to uncover ways to create levels for the game. This has opened the door to limitless content, even though most projects are still in their early stages.
Perhaps the most exciting Baldur’s Gate 3 mod project to date has been announced on the Project Strahd Reddit page. The intention is for the Curse of Strahd D&D 5e campaign to be made playable within Baldur’s Gate 3.
Curse Of Strahd Is Being Adapted As A Baldur’s Gate 3 Mod
Curse of Strahd is set in a land called Barovia, which is separated from the rest of the D&D multiverse. The players find themselves in a realm held beneath the tyrannical thumb of Count Strahd von Zarovich, a powerful vampire and mage. It’s up to the party to learn the secrets of Strahd’s past and find ancient weapons hidden around the land, in order to overthrow him and escape his realm.
Project Strahd intends to be as faithful to the source material as possible, along with the addition of new companions who will flesh out the story.

The big question is whether the mod will make it to release, as Hasbro or Wizards of the Coast could easily stamp it out beforehand. Hopefully, Project Strahd will make it over the finishing line, and Baldur’s Gate 3 players will be given the chance to cross blades with the lord of Barovia.
